Public apology to survivors of abuse in care

A formal public apology will be made to survivors of abuse in care at Parliament today by the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Christopher Luxon. The Prime Minister will apologise for the failures of the State across many governments, as recommended in the final report of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care.

The Prime Minister will deliver the national apology in the House of Representatives at 11.30am.
