Lay summary
This study aims to undertake observational research of nurses to articulate the fundamental components of care interactions in practice. Then to investigate if fundamental care interactions are affected by the use of mobile technology. This will contribute to further refining of the Fundamental Care Framework in the NZ context, and will add to the evidence for measuring fundamental care delivery to improve the quality of care.
