With current policy reforms Health Minister Little would like to see improved outcomes for patients, whanau and healthcare workers. The Interim Health Statement highlights that organisational culture change is critical to improved health for all. What cultures look like is different for high and low performing teams. Culture is “the way things are around here". It is the beliefs and values that drive behaviour and how healthcare services are delivered. Cultures value different outcomes and those supporting wellbeing, resilience and performance need to be identified. Integrated cultures are described as an oasis of harmony and calmness; differentiated as separation and conflict; and fragmented as ambiguous flux. To move to more integrated cultures supporting wellbeing and resilience, mahi is needed to develop and test a "proof of concept" in hospital pharmacy. Through engagement this proof of concept will be supported by Te Ao Maori world views.
