Lay summary
How do we apply Pacific Health models (PHm) in a meaningful way to improve Pacific housing solutions? Our research aims to advance the health and wellbeing of Pacific peoples by researching methods that improve the uptake and meaningful translation of Pacific health and wellbeing research in the housing of Pacific communities in Aotearoa. Activation activities include cross-disciplinary literature reviews and stakeholder engagement with Pacific communities, health professionals and housing agencies to set priorities for future research. The activities contribute to the following research objectives: 1) define the causal links between Pacific health and wellbeing and Pacific housing in Aotearoa, from the perspective of Pacific peoples and health professionals; 2) illustrate how PHm are demonstrated within Pacific domestic environments to triangulate data about these models. The research contributes to an understanding of how to apply Pacific health and wellbeing models across an essential service, like housing, for further cross-sector health research applications.
