Lay summary
Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) describes the neurological and physical effects of prenatal exposure to alcohol. Early interventions – including assessment, diagnosis and effective support are key to favourable outcomes. Innovations in technology holds promise to drive efficiencies, improve outcomes and widen access to healthcare delivery. Despite the increasing adoption of technological advances in healthcare delivery, very few has been applied in the area of FASD. We will consult with end-users, including individuals living with FASD, caregivers, healthcare professionals, educators, researchers, and developers regarding the role of tech innovations in assessing, managing and supporting those impacted by FASD.
