Lay summary
This project has the overarching kaupapa of increasing the research capacity and capability of Tū Kotahi (and eventually Tākiri Mai te Ata). It will do this both through the proposed activity and by bringing on new kairangahau to undertake the activity. It will utilise strengths-based Kaupapa Māori qualitative research methodologies.
We have one objective: To develop a pathway plan for the establishment of Tū Kotahi’s independent research unit.
To achieve our objective we will assess the current research capability and capacity of Tū Kotahi, and Takiri Mai; identify research priorities within Tū Kotahi and the communities it serves; and, investigate where potential opportunities and collaborations can enhance the future research direction of Tū Kotahi. We will use the findings to consider the long-term sustainability of Tū Kotahi, develop a pathway plan for the establishment of our independent research unit and write one funding application to a relevant grant.
