Lay summary
There are Tongan and Pacific concepts like loto, ongo, noa that are identified in research. These are also applied in Pacific methodology and models like talanoa and ūloa. This project will bring these concepts and models together and document how they relate to one another in research and mental health. It will present the research in three different ways, 1. a journal article, 2. a conference presentation and will 3. propose to publish a book on these concepts in mental health. These three different outputs will target families, communities, mental health providers and will improve Pacific mental health status in Aotearoa New Zealand.
