Lay summary
The decision about which research questions are investigated frequently lies with health researchers. However, the priorities of the researchers may not align with those of patients, whānau, and clinicians. The aim of this project is to establish and manage a Priority Setting Partnership (PSP) to develop research priorities in paediatric rehabilitation. The work will identify key evidence uncertainties and agree on a Top 10 prioritised list that highlights important areas for research focus at Starship/Wilson Centre. We will use the approach developed by the James Lind Alliance to identify shared research priorities (www.jla.nihr.ac.uk). The first stage of the project is to identify the project steering group of representatives of patients, whānau, clinicians and other relevant parties. A further 6 stages include gathering information from patients, whānau and clinicians, summarising the information, checking against published evidence, interim priority setting, workshop to agree the Top 10 and publishing/promoting the research priorities.
