Lay summary
The project intent is to set the top 10 research priorities for occupational therapy healthcare needs and service delivery in the Waikato. Additional outcomes include building research capacity among clinicians and enhancing relationships between clinical practice (Waikato DHB) and academia. We will use a systematic method that reflects our local cultural context, following four phases: 1. Consulting stakeholders (occupational therapists; those who have accessed occupational therapy services; professionals working alongside occupational therapists), asking "what are the most important unanswered questions about occupational therapy healthcare delivery in the Waikato?". 2. Thematic analysis of responses and evidence checking (to determine questions already answered), to generate overarching questions. 3. Prioritisation by circulating these overarching questions for feedback, to determine priority order for each of the three stakeholder groups. 4. Workshop with key stakeholders to finalise and agree on the top 10 research priorities, to inform occupational therapy healthcare delivery research planning and activity.
