Physical activity has been linked to various well-being benefits, including social, mental, spiritual, and physical well-being. However, there is a lack of research connecting physical activity with well-being among Pacific Peoples'. To address this gap in knowledge, a mixed methods approach will be used to examine physical activity participation among Pacific adults in Aotearoa New Zealand. The study will draw on Pan-Pacific health frameworks such as the Fonofale model and Fonua Ola model. Quantitative data from the Active NZ dataset will be used to create a profile of adult Pacific physical activity and identify any associations with gender, ethnicity, and social deprivation. This will be followed by qualitative studies to explore Pacific adult perceptions, attitudes, motivators, barriers, and facilitators to physical activity participation. The research will provide important insights into the factors that influence physical activity participation and will consider cultural aspects of the effect of physical activity on well-being.
