Lay summary
Our project aims to identify the health needs and priorities of the Ngāi Tai iwi community in Auckland, New Zealand. We will use a combination of interviews, surveys, and focus groups to collect information on health and wellbeing from members of the community. We will also examine existing data and research on health disparities and outcomes in the Ngāi Tai population. Our goal is to develop recommendations for addressing health inequities and improving the overall health and wellbeing of the community. As part of this project, we will also explore the feasibility of establishing a Ngāi Tai health hub to provide culturally appropriate health services and resources. The outcomes of this project will inform future health initiatives for the Ngāi Tai iwi and contribute to the broader efforts to address health disparities and promote health equity in New Zealand.
