Lay summary
Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki is undertaking a development project to create a hauora strategy aimed at addressing the health needs of their iwi. The project involves conducting two marae wānanga (gatherings) that provide a culturally appropriate space for community engagement and knowledge sharing. Through these wānanga, community members will come together to discuss and identify the health needs that are most relevant to their community, and formulate a hauora strategy that aligns with their values and aspirations. Overall, this development project aims to empower Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki community members to actively participate in shaping their health outcomes through the creation of a hauora strategy that reflects their unique cultural perspectives, values and aspirations.
