Lay summary
This project will gather whānau narratives (up to 10) about their experience of the criminal justice system in Pare Hauraki (Waiau and outlying hapori). The methods will involve establishment of a mana whenua reference group and collaboration with an established provider of support services for Māori. The insights will inform information resources and the co-design of support services to better meet the needs of whānau Māori within this rohe. A Māori-led research agenda will also be developed. This project will create workforce development pathways for Māori wishing to pursue a research career in Pare Hauraki.
