Lay summary
Millions globally suffer debilitating symptoms of long COVID, yet diagnostics remain elusive. Our proposed initiative aims to address this urgent issue by leveraging our global research networks. We seek to accelerate discovery, translating research findings into practical solutions. Collaborating with leading experts, we will explore the potential of using highly complex research technologies that are clinically actionable for long COVID diagnosis. This initiative aims to build collaborative, inclusive biomedical research networks locally, contributing to global efforts. With a keen focus on diversity — both in research teams and patient demographics — we aim to pave the way for advancing diagnostic tools. By investigating the feasibility of these advanced tools and facilitating future collaborative teams, we seek to contribute significantly to global long COVID diagnostics. Ultimately, our project aspires to transcend geographic borders, revolutionising acute and post-acute infectious disease diagnostics. Through innovative, powerful technologies, we strive to improve healthcare delivery for all.
