Lay summary
The research knowledge translation grant applied for in this proposal will enable the translation and adaptation of one story from the recently published HRC-funded research project in the book of the same name, Koeke - a ko ake nei: Towards intergenerational positive ageing for Ngāti Pikiao people, into a children’s version of that story for development into a children’s book. The grant will assist in the costs of translating and adapting the story in preparation for development into a book and includes planning and arrangement of content, writing of text in English and te reo Māori, consultation with the koeke subject of the story, and editing and proofreading. It is intended that a writing template will be created in this mahi. Translation and adaptation of the story will enable its use as a resource in kōhanga reo, early childhood, kaupapa Māori and mainstream schools by students, teachers, lecturers, and whānau.
