Health Delivery Research Activation Grant
Lay summary
This proposal arose from our community-led collaboration between Te Whāriki Manawāhine o Hauraki, Te Whakaruruhau o Tauranga Moana and AUT's Good Health Design and Taupua Waiora Māori Research Centre. We intend to explore the feasibility of implementing Te Ara Poutama, a co-designed toolkit of structured activities to enhance whānau wellbeing and mana (status, esteem). We will do this by exploring the usability of Te Ara Poutama in readiness to implement; build community research capability; grow kaimahi leadership to work more effectively with whānau; and strengthen relationships. The intended outcome of this research activation activity is to (a) establish and improve the feasibility and usability of Te Ara Poutama, (b) capture the difference Te Ara Poutama makes for whānau, and (c) provide co-design and research experience for community-based researchers. This information will inform a future Health Delivery Research Grant application to implement and evaluate Te Ara Poutama.
