Lay summary
This research seeks to understand the perspective of I-Kiribati youth on health and wellbeing. Due to the lack of resources and literature on I-Kiribati youth’s health and wellbeing, the health system does not have enough information on I-Kiribati youth and the impacts their health and wellbeing. This research will be able to provide suggestions that can allow for health systems to tailor their services so that I-Kiribati youth can resonate and be able take part. Kiribati people have been living in New Zealand for decades, yet their health has not been prioritised which is concerning as a growing population in Aotearoa New Zealand. So in this research, it will support I-Kiribati youth to achieve good health and wellbeing as well as become value member of society similar to all other New Zealanders. It is important to enhance the voices of Kiribati as they tend to be hidden under Pacific peoples.
