Lay summary
The way in which a person living with psychosis interacts with the world around them has a significant impact on their health, wellbeing, and recovery, particularly during a person’s first episode of psychosis. Understanding such impacts from the perspective of early intervention services is an important step in supporting rangatahi whai ora (young service users) to live well. Therefore, this Activation project will explore the personal geographies of rangatahi whai ora living with psychosis within the Greater Wellington Region, using a custom-built smartphone application with the capacity to record photos, notes, and GPS data and one-to-one interviews. Results will provide insights into rangatahi whai ora relationships and interactions with their local environments. These insights will support early intervention services to create or improve accessibility to places and spaces that support health, wellbeing, and recovery.
