Lay summary
Long Covid is a highly prevalent condition which can cause debilitating illness. Without support, those with the condition are left to manage the health and social consequences alone. It is likely that many with Long Covid symptoms will present to their GP and be referred to other primary care providers, such as physiotherapists. The focus of our proposal is to determine current best practice for management of Long Covid in primary care through a review of the literature; to engage with those people whose health is impacted by Long Covid and to engage with primary care based stakeholders - patients, GPs, community nurses, physiotherapists, Maori Health providers and Pasifika health providers. The feedback from these groups will support the development of an initial framework for managing Long Covid in primary care, which will include a strong focus on equity.
