Lay summary
Despite the increasing use of digital technologies in delivering services, as well as receiving and consuming information that shape consumer behaviour, research that explores how members of transnational communities (e.g. migrants and refugees) leverage digital tools (e.g. mobile applications, social media) to navigate complex health systems, in achieving positive health and well-being outcomes in Aotearoa New Zealand is not well established. The activation grant will provide the resources for: a literature review and build working relationships with transnational groups in Aotearoa New Zealand, specifically marginalised refugee and ethnic migrant groups. Additionally, the grant will allow for collaborative discussions to inform research priority setting for future research that focus on the delivery of equitable and inclusive health and wellbeing services, in an increasingly multi-cultural and digitally enabled Aotearoa New Zealand. Thus, falling within the scope of the 2023 Health Delivery Research Investment Signal and Aotearoa New Zealand's strategic health priorities.
