Lay summary
Va o Tamaiti, a relational resilience framework for Pacific child wellbeing, was developed during my PhD research to reflect key relationships, settings and the role of the child in their own development and wellbeing. Va o Tamaiti, as an evidence-informed framework, has the potential to be used as an approach and a tool to improve Pacific child wellbeing. The opportunity to design the approach and tool and to refine the framework would contribute further to the lesser-researched area of Pacific child wellbeing. A postdoctoral study is proposed that will seek feedback on Va o Tamaiti as a framework and co-design of an approach or tool that can give practical affect within community and/or clinical settings, either with children and/or their carers. Children will be included in this phase. A Va o Tamaiti resource and/or tool will be a key output of this study.
