Lay summary
This research project aims to investigate why health disparities are perpetuated using chronic kidney disease as a case study to gain understanding about possible systemic causes of disparity. By utilising kaupapa Maori research methodology to investigate the experiences, beliefs, and values of the health system, it is envisaged that this approach can support opportunities to generate meaningful system-level responses to address health disparities associated with chronic conditions such as chronic kidney disease.
