Lay summary
This study aims to comprehensively analyse breast cancer data from young Pacific women obtained from Te Rēhita Mate Ūtaetae (BCFNZ National Register). The results will be compared to data of older Pacific women. Data include detailed clinical, pathological, treatment, outcomes and much more information, collected since 2000. The initiative has two aims: a) to contribute to a larger project aimed at understanding the ethnic disparities in breast cancer outcomes affecting Pacific young women (<45 years old at diagnosis) in Aotearoa New Zealand, and b) to initiate the targeted recruitment of Pacific women through talanoa sessions for future breast cancer-related studies.
