AI-nurse partnerships: Imagining a future where healthcare in New Zealand is a seamless blend of human care and innovative artificial intelligence (AI).
We aim to discover the best way to combine AI with nursing practices in a manner that's not only safe, ethical, and fair, but also tailored to New Zealand’s unique healthcare landscape. By conducting a thorough scoping review, we'll explore how AI is being used in nursing nationally and internationally to identify how these practices may work within a New Zealand context. Aiming to support Māori and disability health strategies effectively, ensuring an AI approach respects and uplifts all communities.
This research forms the foundation for the future development of a framework for AI-nurse partnerships. Designed to support stakeholders in developing legislation, policies, and systems that will deliver a more personalised, efficient, and inclusive healthcare system for New Zealand.
