Professor Lesley McCowan appointed to HRC Board

The HRC is pleased to announce the appointment of internationally respected research obstetrician Professor Lesley McCowan to the HRC's Board.

Professor McCowan (ONZM, MBChB, FRANZCOG, MD, CMFM) is head of the Academic Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Auckland. She is a sub-specialist in maternal-fetal medicine at National Women’s Health, and her main clinical interests are in the management of high-risk pregnancies, especially those with fetal growth restriction and preeclampsia. Read Professor McCowan's biography.

Professor McCowan replaces paediatric orthopaedic surgeon Professor Susan Stott, who has just completed her second and final term on the HRC Board. The HRC extends its warmest thanks to Professor Stott for the excellent work she has done over the past six years while serving on the board.

The HRC is also pleased to confirm the reappointment of current HRC Board member Ms Suzanne Snively for another three-year term on the board.
