Lay summary
We are proposing a study of CO2 cerebrovascular reactivity (CVR) for different sexes in the Māori population. The project will consist of procurement and installation of ventilation equipment for Matai Medical Research Institute (https://www.matai.org.nz/) in Gisborne/Tairawhiti New Zealand to extend the centre capabilities for measuring CVR and make it accessible to the local Iwi. This pilot study will collect preliminary evidence to determine sex differences in CVR in both Pakeha and Māori groups to support future grant applications studying healthy and disease cohorts related to cognitive decline.
