Lay summary
EpiNet has been developed as a research platform to learn more about the optimal management of epilepsy. At the same time, the goal has been to develop a tool that will be clinically useful in improving the care of people with epilepsy. At present EpiNet records are only available to neurologists. We would like to make the records available to other health professionals who are looking after people with epilepsy, in the belief that this will improve their care. In this study, we will make the EpiNet records available to educators working with Epilepsy New Zealand. If this is successful and results in improved care of patients, then we will look to make records available to patients themselves and general practitioners at a later date.
