A world-first therapy for helping smokers quit that uses a nicotine-filled inhaler in combination with a nicotine patch has doubled quit rates compared to smokers using a nicotine patch only.
The government has today announced that the Health Research Council of New Zealand (HRC) will receive a significant new investment of $97 million over the next four years.
