The inaugural International Pacific Health Conference came to a close yesterday, with many lauding the opportunity it provided to address some of the health challenges facing Pacific peoples globally.

Professor Sir Mason Durie, KNZM, opened proceedings on Monday with an inspiring discussion about the principles for the advancement of Pasifika health in the 21st century. This was followed over the next three days by a packed programme of more than 90 speakers in seven streams.

The HRC was fortunate to partner up with a number of international and national organisations to deliver this conference, and we thank them all for their contribution to this successful event.

If you would like to read the presenters' abstracts from the International Pacific Health Conference 2014, you can view the abstracts book which was distributed to conference attendees.
