We are pleased to announce a new Māori health research emerging leader fellowship, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, covering salary and research expenses up to $500,000 over four years.
The fellowship is similar to the HRC's Sir Charles Hercus research fellowship and aligns with the recently launched New Zealand Health Research Strategy priority to ensure the growth and ongoing development of our Māori health research workforce.
This new fellowship is focused on building Māori health knowledge - specifically around equity and the social investment that supports improved Māori health outcomes. 'Emerging leaders' are mid-career researchers who have completed about eight years of postdoctoral research and are likely to be employed by an academic institution.
Applications for this new fellowship open Friday, 28 July 2017 and close on 23 August 2017. Further details, including application forms and guidelines, will be available on the HRC's website by the end of 27 July 2017.
