The HRC would like to welcome Associate Professor Patrick Manning and Associate Professor Sally McCormick to the HRC's Biomedical Research Committee (BRC). Their appointments were confirmed at the HRC Board meeting in December.
Associate Professor Patrick Manning is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, Consultant Endocrinologist, and Director of the Endocrinology Research Group at the University of Otago, Dunedin. He is a research-active clinician specialising in all aspects of endocrinology, metabolism, obesity, and diabetes. He has considerable research experience in clinical trials, insulin resistance, and obesity.
Associate Professor Sally McCormick is a biochemist and cardiovascular researcher who uses techniques frequently assessed by Science Assessment Committees. Associate Professor McCormick is interested in the genetics, proteomics, and biochemistry of molecules involved in heart disease, including plasma lipoproteins. She is involved with a broad research programme that includes the purification, measurement, quantitative proteomics and genetic regulation of plasma lipoproteins.
We would also like to thank Professor Graham Le Gros for his dedicated service to the BRC. Professor Le Gros completed his term on the BRC in December.
