The Public Health Association of New Zealand (PHANZ) is continuing its new webinar series, Vax Chats, bringing together experts, practitioners, and community voices to explore the future of immunisation in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Vax Chats is providing a forum to discuss key issues, innovations, challenges, and success stories in vaccination – from equity and access, to community engagement, workforce development, and policy priorities. Each session will feature presenters sharing their insights, followed by Q&A.

Associate Professor Esther Willing – Taking a systems approach to improve immunisation uptake and coverage
Esther Willing (Ngāti Toarangatira, Ngāti Koata, Ngā Ruahine, Ngāi Tahu) is an associate professor in hauora Māori and the director of Kōhatu Centre for Hauora Māori at Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka-University of Otago in Dunedin. Her research interests include health policy and health systems research, and she is passionate about improving Māori health outcomes and addressing health inequities in Aotearoa New Zealand.
