A brief personal account of research and ethics approval processes in a project with Māori caregivers

Given the presence of high Māori mental health needs, conducting research with Māori mental health service users is vital. Such studies provide a means of improving the way in which mental health services are delivered to them. This article, written by Dr Kahu McClintock, describes an ethical research process that was utilised to gain Māori caregiver perspectives of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in the Midland Health region.
