The Health Research Council of New Zealand (HRC) would like to notify researchers of an upcoming funding opportunity through the e-ASIA Joint Research Program (JRP).
The e-ASIA JRP initiates and supports multilateral joint-research programmes in the East Asian region. It aims to develop a vibrant and collaborative research community in science and technology to promote innovation in the East Asian region, and contribute to the region’s economic development. New Zealand, via the HRC, has recently become a member of the programme. Other members of the e-ASIA JRP include Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam.
This call will focus on infectious diseases research. To be eligible, New Zealand researchers must be involved in a collaboration and involve the participation of at least two other e-ASIA members. Please note that Vietnam is a non-participating member country. If a proposal includes Vietnam, the Vietnamese principal investigator must join the project with his/her currently available funds.
This is a two stage process. A pre-application will be due around the end of March 2014 (please note: this date has changed from that previously advertised). The HRC will release more information in the coming days.
