This is a two-phase study. Phase one will look at reviewing the available literature on tobacco and kava use amongst a Pacific population with a specific focus on Pacific men. The basis of the systematic review is to identify the available literature on tobacco use and kava consumption and to highlight any research gaps in the literature. Phase two of the study will develop a qualitative research proposal about tobacco and kava use amongst a Pacific population in New Zealand and Pacific countries such as Tonga, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.
