This proposed study will engage with taitamariki with the support of their schools, iwi, hapu and whanau to seek from them their understanding of taitamariki intimate partner violence, its context and consequences, and ascertain prevention and intervention strategies from their perspective. It will assist their voices to be heard on this issue, which will affect them and their whanau, hapu and iwi. This proposal will add to the scarce body of knowledge on intimate partner violence and taitamariki Maori and the best methods to carry out research with them.
