Using qualitative research methods within a Kaupapa Maori approach that is inherently resilience-focused, this research proposes to explore and identify those factors which whanau believe will: - facilitate a reduction in STIs and unplanned or unsupported pregnancies for rangatahi Maori; - increase consistent contraception and condom use for rangatahi Maori; - facilitate the provision of appropriate and accessible sexual and reproductive health services for whanau; - contribute to a supportive context for whanau to discuss sexual and reproductive health; and - contribute to an improvement in rangatahi Maori sexual and reproductive health.
