The Counties Manukau DHB Maori Gout Action Group (MGAG) has hosted two national 'Outing Gout' hui in 2009 for dissemination of gout learnings (http://biochem.otago.ac.nz/gout/). MGAG are partnering with Nagti Porou Hauora (NPH) to hold the third hui (Pakirikiri Marae, Tokomaru Bay). There will be a focus on gout, comorbidities and whanau ora. Knowledge will be disseminated to hui participants from NZ gout researchers, including the HRC-funded project led by Drs Merriman and Hollis-Moffatt. This knowledge would help inform NPH and the community in health service development. The hui would run for two days, beginning with clinical mentoring sessions run by MGAG for NPH.
