Lay summary
The purpose of the study is to gather information (via a computer-based questionnaire) from students who apply for entry to Year 2 of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy programme in 2010 and are offered an interview. The information relates to their knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and their experiences of Maori culture and understanding of terms such as cultural awareness and cultural safety. The data gathered from the survey will be used as a basis to inform the objectives and teaching content of the programme and to review the range of resources made available to students through Years 2-4 of the BPhty degree.
