With qualitative and autheothnographic research methods, this study will improve our understanding of contemporary adult Maori and whanau experiences of dying, death and bereavement and their end of life cultural needs. The findings will increase knowledge and understanding of Maori palliative needs leading to improvements in end-of-life care.
