Lay summary
Over 90,000 Pacific people reside within the joint Auckland and Waitemata District Health Boards' (DHBs) boundaries. For the purposes of increasing Pacific health gain and the reduction of inequalities a joint Auckland and Waitemata DHB Pacific Health Action Plan for the 2013/14 fiscal year will be developed. The first step in the development of this joint Pacific Health Action Plan is to identify the health needs of this joint Pacific population. This summer studentship will produce a stand-alone report describing the demography and health status of the joint Auckland and Waitemata DHB Pacific population. This report will serve to identify the health needs of this population, and will be used to inform the development of a joint Auckland and Waitemata DHB Pacific Health Action Plan for 2013/14.
