Lay summary
The project will look at the access Maori have to medicines when living in an isolated, rural area. In the absence of pharmacies, depots are set up. However, these depots lack adequate expertise for consultation and also lack appropriate facilities for storage. The project is aimed to study the delivery and storage of packages to the depots and will involve consultation with depot owners and pharmacy managers. Those collecting their medicines at the depots will be approached to be interviewed. If consent is attained, the person collecting the medicines will be asked a variety of questions including their method of transport to the depot and whether they can afford to pay for their medicines.
