District Health Board Research Fund:  Translational Research in Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes and Obesity

Second round
A Joint Initiative in Translational Research, funded by the 21 District Health Boards (DHB's) and the Health Research Council of New Zealalnd (HRC).

In response to the Inquiry into Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes in New Zealand (2007) a partnership was formed between the HRC and the DHBRF to fund small-scale translational research projects with the objective of reducing the incidence or, impact of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and/or obesity.  Partnerships between DHBs and/or PHO's are central to these projects in which findings will be quickly disseminated through the Health Sector.  For information on projects funded to date, please go to the DHBRF webpage.
