How the HRC is funded
The HRC is the major government-funded agency purchasing and co-ordinating health research and fostering the health research workforce in New Zealand. Our mission is “to improve human health by promoting and funding health research”. We receive most of our funds from the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology (MoRST). These funds purchase a range of research contracts and career development awards.
We also access funds through partnerships with the Ministry of Health and other government agencies as well as external funders.
HRC Investment Strategy
The HRC Investment Strategy is the annual strategy and purchase document prepared by the HRC Board. It details the HRC's investment plans for the financial year, as well as awards, processes, assessment criteria and timelines to be followed.
