The HRC actively seeks to form partnerships with other organisations wishing to promote and fund Pacific health research. This has been an excellent way of increasing funds for investment in Pacific health research.
The International Collaborative Research Grants Scheme provides a $20M (NZ) fund for collaborative research programmes with developing countries in the Pacific region. The partners are The Wellcome Trust, Australia (National Health and Medical Research Council) and New Zealand (HRC).
Another example of a Pacific partnership initiative is the “Pacific Victims of Crime” research project, funded through a joint venture with the Ministry of Justice and the HRC.
