Pacific Conference Grants 2009
A fund of $10,000.00 is available to assist HRC Pacific students to attend health related Pacific Conferences within the Pacific region.
Eligibility
• Must be an HRC award recipient.
• Must be of Pacific descent and be a permanent resident, or NZ citizen.
• Are to have no employer related income and must be enrolled at a New Zealand University (this applies to undergraduates also). Proof of student status will be required (student ID).
• Will only be eligible for a maximum of four years for the period of their qualification and one year after the term of completed course.
• Can only apply for one award per year.
• Must be presenting their paper or poster at the conference/forum and be on the programme. Applicants must submit a copy of their presentation or poster that will be presented at the conference /forum.
Value of grant
Awards will usually be in the order of no more than $2,000.

Assessment
Applications are considered by an Assessing committee who base their decisions on the following criteria:
• Evidence that the student is presenting a topic of priority and significance for Pacific health and relevant to the theme of the
Conference /Forum.
• Evidence that the presentation will be of high quality.
• Evidence that the student has demonstrated a track record of commitment to the Pacific community.
• Evidence that the student has the potential to add value to the Pacific health and health research sector.
