This document provides guidance on whether a study requires ethical approval and the ethical approval process involved.
Every three years ethics committees are required to complete the Reaccreditation Summary Report.
To clarify when an Institutional Ethics Committee should refer a health research study to an Health and Disability Ethics Committee, these guidelines should be followed - HRC Guidelines for an Accredited Institutional Ethics Committee to refer Studies to an Accredited Health and Disability Ethics Committee - Referral Guidelines.
