Lay summary

This research project will look at an urban Māori population’s (West Auckland) experiences and challenges in regards to health and wellbeing. The aim of the study is to identify catalysts that have enabled whānau to move from crisis to stability to success. This research will be a qualitative, retrospective study of whānau, which will focus on intergenerational health gains and resilience over a thirty year period, and which will narrate the untold health stories of this particular population.
